Green Tortoise pictures

This was my family for two weeks (minus Shauna, Jack and Vivek):Picture taken by Allen's camera

I'm sorry to my friends who are expecting a lengthy journal account of my Green Tortoise trip. I'm afraid this one is harder to summarize, and I get exhausted just thinking of trying to explain how great it was to people who weren't there. Just trust me that it was great and I'll try to tell you the highlights. In the meantime, here are a lot of pictures :)

To my fellow GTers, thank you for the wonderful time. Thank you for the friendships, the community, the stories, the songs, the laughter, the adventures...everything.

The following are only the color pictures, because I'm nowhere near a lab to develop the five or so rolls of black and white that i took.

Here is the inside of the bus. You can see how we all got to know each other quite well :)
These pictures are from the second morning where we stopped to go whale watching, but unfortunately didn't end up actually going. that's okay, cus we had a blast playing frisbee and dipping our toes in the water:

This is Avery, a very lively character and a lot of fun to be around:

This is Thomas, my hot brazilian boyfriend (though this was before we got together):
This is Ellen (pronounced Eileen). She's Irish:
A whale skeleton:
Please ignore my crooked horizons. I'm ashamed to call myself a photographer :(
Thomas again:
me! taken by Thomas:
Dan breaks out his guitar, and Polly and Catherine break out their singing voices for the first of many times on the trip:
Teagan (from Australia), Mackenzie, and Vivek:
Avery again:
This was what the view looked like for most of the drive. Lots of cacti, lots of desert:
A little fresh water swimming hole with a rope swing. Bloody cold:
I'm gonna visit Mackenzie in Washington and she's going to teach me how to sail.
We hiked a couple miles down to Playa Escondito, the remote beach where we spent 5 days:

Thomas and Aiden were throwing rocks over the cliff. It looks like a jungle, but it's really a desert:

Thomas, me, and Catherine eating lunch after the hike:

Singing around the campfire, something we did every night:

I got to ride a mule for the first time. I couldn't help wondering what the benefit of riding a mule was... my ass got unbelievably sore, and we only went about walking pace. The views were pretty though. My mule was named Mojado:

Thomas's mule was named Titanic, and it was HUGE:

Catrina, Mackenzie, and Catherine:

We went kayaking and snorkeling, which was a lot of fun until i got dehydrated and seasick. I got rescued by our bus drivers who were fishing on their little boat nearby. Canadian Dave (we had two Daves on the trip), Jane, Nichole, and Lisa having lunch:

Our kayaking guides:

The cliche vacation bikini shot:
We took a hike around the back of one of the islands we kayaked to, and it was a really neat walk. Really cool island:
