i'm just sitting here, reading White Oleander (intense story, beautiful writing= good book) and listening to Jack Johnson. i've totally just recently gotten into him, and that's lyrics from his song Holes to Heaven. oh, and this was a good one from Melissa the other day:

"Isn't it ironic that the only one who knows the heimlich is the one that's choking?"

I dyed my hair again...

My new haircolor. i like it...makes my eyes rather green.

This is when me and my friends Jed and James went out to take photos at night. we used longer exposures, and so we could paint with light, in effect. this is done by using a flash on me, and then someone else coming and sparking a lighter all around my head. wherever light hit in the photo, it was recorded. we ended up spending three hours out there in the middle of the woods, it was a lot of fun.

this is another longer exposure, and what we did was have james behind me, painting my outline with a flashlight, and then taking a smaller flashlight and drawing an arc between my hands. purdy cool, huh?

Here is kelly, zack, and kelsey, sitting on a bench on the pier at Trinidad. it had been raining, so the water is a really cool opaque aqua. 

Here is a beach on the trinidad coast. we went here when zack, kelly and kelsey visited, and it was sprinkling, but still gorgeous. 

TMJ

Hey for all those folks who's jaw pops. You might have this thing called TMJ. My orthodontist said i have it. theres not much to be done except for surgery. Also dont chew gum makes it worse. UCLA i believe is um i guess "studying" ways to fix it. My friend summer has to wear a mouth piece at night to try to counter the problem.

A Saturday Afternoon

Sometimes a good laugh with friends on a Saturday afternoon is worth more than a thousand words; showing everything that is beautiful in life, without saying anything at all.

Caitlin took a cool picture of me and Colin taking pictures of...i forget. something. but that's the minor theater down the street, and the plaza is a little further down.

Nice weekend...

Ahhh...i had a really nice weekend. it started out with taking long exposure pictures out in the woods in the middle of the night for three hours on friday. i can't wait to develop them and see how they turned out, and of course i'll post some here. Then on saturday i went swimming, then walked to town with caitlin (of the blog) and colin (who is newly of the blog...everyone meet colin!) and we took our cameras and looked at everything, and sat in cafes and talked of worldly things. then colin made a delicious dinner, and we and several others settled down to watch City of God which is a most excellent portugese foreign film. in fact, it is my new favorite movie. it's really intense, and i really think everyone should see it. Today was really nice too, we went to town again to eat some lunch at a vegetarian restaurant, and then we went and hung out in a used bookstore. that place is like a maze of bookshelves, encompassing this whole building, and they have hundred year old books. my interest in books was again ignited, after being shelved away for a time, and it was lovely. and on top of it all, the only homework i had was meager, and i've already completed it. ahhhhh :)

So how was everyone else's weekend? are you guys still alive? i haven't seen anyone else post for a while, cept chris or caitlin. drop a note if you read this, i'd love to hear from y'all.

here is the much-anticipated picture of my nose-piercing. impressive isn't it? yeah, it's not that big. doesn't really make much of a change on my face at all...wonder if it was worth the pain. hehe, yeah, it was...i like messing with it. 

Oh, and here is a sunset i drew. don't compare it to the real sunsets, cus that's not fair. mine is so much more awesome. i kid!! it's the other way around, nothing compares to a real sunset. i dunno why i even try. but anyways, this is what my sunsets look like now, for those of you who haven't seen my art in a while. 

Look guys, this is where i live now (well almost) isn't it amazing??? Anyways, here are some sunset pictures...i've been taking them like crazy, and wasn't able to post them cus my camera cord was left at home. soon will come a picture of my nose, but for now i have to write a speech for tomorrow. procrastinating sucks...don't give in to the temptations!!!! so i blog. *sigh* 

this is looking down on one of the trinidad beaches from the cliffs above. those are little people, if you can spot them. quite lovely view 

Shelby and I took a trip to Trinidad, like 20 mins away from Arcata, to take some pictures. this is the Trinidad lighthouse, which is apparently famous. shelby knows more of this than me, so ask her if you're curious.
